Truco Enterprises proudly supports Voice of Hope Ministries which exists to provide children living in the neighborhoods of West Dallas with strong character models, education support, life skills, and family support services needed to become productive Christian citizens.
Truco CEO, Roy Truitt is very involved in the Voice of Hope Ministries dedicating much time and effort serving as Chairman of the Board since 2003 and as a Board Member prior to that. Truco sponsored our own Voice of Hope 2004 Grand Prix Racing Team to raise money to assist in sending over 200 children to VOH's Summer Day Camp, send youth to week long away camps, provide two meals and a snack for each camper, provide job training, allow children to take weekly cultural trips, and to provide a safe and fun environment for youth during the summer. The Grand Prix Event is sponsored each year by the Preston Center Rotary Club to help raise money for the Voice of Hope. This event raises about $10,000 which goes to support VOH programs for the kids. Besides the VOH campus, Voice of Hope operates two other onsite programs at other area school locations and has plans to add two more in the fall of 2007 to handle up to 500 kids.
Voice of Hope provides faith based after-school and summer camp programs for the school age kids of West Dallas. West Dallas is the 11th poorest areas in the USA with associated problems of drugs, gangs, broken families, high dropout rates, low income, high unemployment, elevated crime levels, etc. VOH provides the kids of West Dallas with a safe place to go after school, meals and help with their school work and biblical training in a nurturing environment. Inner-city families are equipped with resources and skills needed to overcome and break the poverty cycle. The ministry seeks to meet the needs by addressing the whole person - spiritual, physical, and mental - through training, mentoring, exp osure, emergency assistance, affirmation, counseling, networking and partnerships with other community agencies.
